Robert T. Woodburn, M.D

Robert T. Woodburn, M.D., founder
of the Cancer Health Treatment Centers, was born and raised in East
Chicago, Indiana, and attended East Chicago Roosevelt High School.
He completed four years of undergraduate studies and four years
of medical school at Indiana University. He interned at the University
of California at Davis, and returned to Indiana University where
he completed three years of residency training in Internal Medicine.
He then went on to do his subspecialty training in Hematology and
Medical Oncology. Following one year on the faculty at Indiana University
School of Medicine as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics,
he returned to Northwest Indiana and entered the private practice
of medicine in the specialties of Hematology and Medical Oncology.
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and
Hematology. He was active in medical education as Associate Clinical
Professor of Medicine at the School of Medicine, Indiana University
Northwest until his retirement from the University in 1994. Dr.
Woodburn founded this corporation in 1977. In 2003, he was presented
the “Sagamore of the Wabash” award by Governor Frank O’Bannon. This
is the highest honor bestowed upon a citizen of the state of Indiana
for distinguished service. Dr. Woodburn retired December 31, 2006.

Murugavel Muthusamy M.D. |
Murugavel Muthusamy, M.D., graduated
from Coimbatore Medical College in Madras, India. He completed his
Internal Medicine Residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center,
Brooklyn, New York. He then went on to specialize in Hematology,
Medical Oncology and Blood Banking at State University of New York
at Stony Brook. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology,
and Medical Oncology. Dr. Muthusamy lives with his wife and two
children in Chesterton. Dr. Samy, as he prefers to be called, joined
Cancer Health Treatment Centers in 1993 and practices at our Michigan
City, Valparaiso and Knox Clinics. |

Cheryl Morgan-Ihrig, M. D. |
Cheryl Morgan-Ihrig, M. D. was
born and raised in Munster, Indiana and graduated with honors from
Munster High School in 1981. Accepted into The Honors Program in
Medical Education at Northwestern University, she obtained her M.D.
degree in 1987, then completed her Internship and Residency in Internal
Medicine in 1990, and Hematology/Medical Oncology Fellowship in
1993 at the University of Pittsburgh. She was a visiting bone marrow
transplant fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
in Seattle, Washington. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine,
Hematology and Medical Oncology. She currently resides in Munster
with her husband and two sons. She joined Cancer Health Treatment
Centers in 1993 and practices at our Munster Clinic. |

Mohammed Ali, M.D. |
Mohammed Ali, M.D. holds degrees
from Saifabad Science College and Osmania Univerisity. He is a member
of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom . He received
his medical degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He
was a Fellow in Hematology/Medical Oncology at Milwaukee County
General Hospital and a Fellow in Medical Oncology at Albany Medical
Center Hospital in Albany, New York. He has been in private practice
in Northwest Indiana since 1980. He is Board Certified in Internal
Medicine and Medical Oncology. Dr. Ali and his wife currently reside
in Munster and have three grown sons. He joined Cancer Health Treatment
Centers in 1995 and practices at our Munster Clinic. |

Jyotsna Sanghvi, M.D. |
Jyotsna Sanghvi, M.D. is a graduate
from Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital
(K.E.M.) in Bombay, India. She did her Residency and a Rotating
Internship at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bombay. She completed
her Internship in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital and Medical
Center in Chicago, Illinois followed by Residency in Internal Medicine
at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago. She completed a two year fellowship
in Hematology and Oncology at Mount Sinai and Rush Presbyterian
St. Luke Hospitals. She remained in private practice in Illinois
before coming to Northwest Indiana in 1990. Dr. Sanghvi is Board
Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. She joined
Cancer Health Treatment Centers in 1995 and practices at our Merrillville
Clinic. |

Virginia Tan Tabib, M.D. |
Virginia Tan Tabib, M.D. is a cum
laude graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine
and Surgery, Philippines. She completed a Rotating Internship at
Santo Tomas University Hospital, Philippines before completing a
Medical Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Columbus
Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her Fellowship in Medical
Oncology at Northwestern University Medical Center. She is Board
Certified in Internal Medicine. She has been in private practice
in the Valparaiso area since 1983 and prior to this in Chicago since
1979. She joined Cancer Health Treatment Centers in 1996 and practices
at our Valparaiso Clinic. She is Chinese and speaks and writes in
Mandarin and Fuginese dialect. Since she grew up in the Philippines,
she also speaks and writes in Tagalog dialect and Spanish. Her priorities
include God, family and community. |

George E. Sloan M.D.
|
George E. Sloan, M.D. graduated
Cum Laude from Medical School at the State University of New York
Health Science Center at Brooklyn, in 1994. His internal Medicine
residency was at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue
Hospital. His hematology/oncology fellowship was at Loyola University
Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. He practiced in the Chicago
area for four years before joining Cancer Health Treatment Centers
in 2004. Dr. Sloan has a wide range of clinical interests including
breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer and hematological
malignancies. Dr. Sloan is a volunteer Clilnical Assistant Professor
of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine Northwest.
Dr. Sloan practices at our Merrillville and Valparaiso Clinics.

Leno Thomas, M.D. |
Leno Thomas, M.D graduated from
Kasturba Medical
College in Mangalore India. She did her training in
Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh McKeesport
Hospital in Pennsylvania and her fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at
the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
She comes to Cancer Health Treatment Centers from
Redington General Hospital
in Maine where she was the
Medical Director of Oncology and established the first full-time
Cancer Care clinic in that community. She joined Cancer Health
Treatment Centers in 2007. Dr. Thomas is board certified in Internal
Medicine and Medical Oncology and board eligible in hematology and
practices in our Merrillville Clinic.
